]]> HOUSTON (AP) Houston starter Scott Feldman will miss the rest of the season with a sprained right shoulder.

Feldman left his Sept. 1 start against Seattle in the third inning with shoulder discomfort. Houston hoped he could return after missing a start, but after an MRI on Thursday general manager Jeff Luhnow decided he would be shut down for the year.

The AL West-leading Astros say he will begin rehabilitation immediately and is expected to be ready for the start of next season.

This is the second injury this season for Feldman, who missed about two months after arthroscopic knee surgery. He was 5-5 with a 3.90 ERA in 18 starts.

]]> HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Astros starter Scott Feldman has left Tuesday night’s game against the Seattle Mariners with discomfort in his right shoulder.

Feldman walked two straight batters before grimacing after a pitch to Mark Trumbo that resulted in a fly out for the second out of the third inning. Trainers visited with him briefly on the mound before he left the game and was replaced by Vince Velasquez with Seattle leading 3-1.

Feldman struggled with command Tuesday, walking five and allowing three hits and three runs.

He returned from the disabled list on July 18 after missing almost two months following arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
