BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Jordan Jackson had 15 points as Texas Rio Grande Valley rallied from a 17-point, second-half deficit to beat Cal State Bakersfield 79-74 in overtime on Saturday night.
Tyson Smith had 12 points for Texas Rio Grande Valley (14-12, 6-4 Western Athletic Conference), which earned its fourth straight win. Javon Levi added 12 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals. Greg Bowie II had 11 points for the road team.
Trailing 58-41 with 15 minutes to go, Texas Rio Grande Valley outscored Cal State Bakersfield 27-10, including the final 10 points of the half, to force overtime.
The Roadrunners’ 23 second-half points marked a season low for the team.
Jarkel Joiner had 20 points for the Roadrunners (15-9, 6-4). Justin Edler-Davis added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Rickey Holden had 12 points.
The Vaqueros leveled the season series against the Roadrunners with the win. Cal State Bakersfield defeated Texas Rio Grande Valley 75-69 on Jan. 10. Texas Rio Grande Valley faces Seattle at home on Thursday. Cal State Bakersfield matches up against Chicago State on the road on Thursday.
