WACO, Texas (AP) Baylor University officials have received a law firm’s report on how the school handled incidents of sexual assault on campus, but they’re giving no indication on whether the document will be made public.
Baylor’s board of regents said Friday that it will ”carefully consider” the findings and recommendations from the Pepper Hamilton law firm but did not release details. The report comes amid heightened attention to how the university has handled sexual misconduct and rape allegations against athletes.
The Texas school said board members overseeing the largest Baptist university in the U.S. will be ”guided by their faith” as they make decisions for students’ welfare.
Baylor faces a federal lawsuit from a former student who claims the school failed to adequately respond to women’s allegations of sexual assault.
