Delaware State to play seven home games in 2019

(STATS) – With seven home games, Delaware State will seek to build off coach Rod Milstead’s encouraging first season this year.

The Hornets’ 12-game schedule kicks off at instate rival Delaware on Aug. 29.

The home portion of the schedule features nonconference games against Lincoln (Sept. 14), Merrimack (Oct. 19) and Saint Francis (Nov. 23) and MEAC matchups against Howard (Sept. 21, Homecoming), South Carolina State (Oct. 5), Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 9) and Norfolk State (Nov. 16).

Delaware State went 3-8 last year – its highest win total since 2013. The Hornets, who were 2-5 in the MEAC, can return up to 17 starters, including first-team all-conference linebacker Brian Cavicante.
