(STATS) – Duquesne will seek a third straight Northeast Conference championship during its 11-game 2017 schedule which was announced Tuesday.
Challenging non-conference matchups versus South Dakota State, Dayton and Liberty could help prepare Duquesne for its goal.
The Dukes, who finished 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the NEC while sharing the title with Saint Francis last year, will play just four home games – versus West Virginia Wesleyan (Sept. 30) in a non-conference matchup, and Wagner (Oct. 7), Saint Francis (Oct. 21) and Central Connecticut State (Nov. 11) in NEC games.
Coach Jerry Schmitt’s squad is returning 14 starters, but the Dukes are replacing quarterback Dillon Buechel, the NEC’s all-time passing leader.
