(STATS) – Former Maine running back Josh Mack, who led the FCS in rushing yards per game last season, announced on social media he will transfer to Liberty.
After sitting out the 2018 season under NCAA transfer rules, Mack will have two season of eligibility remaining. Liberty is rising to the FBS level as an independent beginning this year.
In 10 games as a sophomore, the 6-foot-1, 198-pound Mack rushed for 1,335 yards and nine touchdowns on 243 carries – an average of 133.5 yards per game. The first-team STATS FCS All-American also caught 30 passes for 209 yards.
He asked for and was granted his release from the program following the season.
As a freshman, Mack carried the ball 140 times for 712 yards and six touchdowns.
