(STATS) – The Howard Bison hope a challenging nonconference schedule during coach Ron Prince’s first season will set them up for MEAC title contention this year.
Out of conference, the Bison have road games against Maryland (Aug. 31), Youngstown State (Sept. 7) and Harvard (Oct. 5) as well as a home game against rival Hampton (Sept. 14).
Howard tied for second in the MEAC in 2017, but it slumped to 4-6 overall last year. This season, the Bison will host conference games against Bethune-Cookman (Sept. 28), Norfolk State (Oct. 12), North Carolina Central (Nov. 2) and Morgan State (Nov. 23), and travel to Delaware State (Oct. 19), North Carolina A&T (Oct. 26), South Carolina State (Nov. 9) and Florida A&M (Nov. 16).
The 49-year-old Prince, hired on Dec. 9, had a 17-20 record as Kansas State’s coach from 2006-08.
