Incoming FCS program LIU sets first FBS game

(STATS) – Long Island University has yet to play a Division I FCS game, but it has an FBS opponent scheduled in two years.

LIU, which will join the Northeast Conference this year in a move up from Division II, has agreed to play at Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 18, 2021. It is LIU’s first permissible FBS game per NCAA bylaws.

In moving to Division I, Long Island is combining the athletic programs of its Brooklyn and Post campuses. Its home games will be played at Post in Brookville.

LIU, which will become the eighth program in NEC football, hasn’t announced its inaugural D-I schedule for this year.
