Reports: CCSU’s Rossomando departing

(STATS) – Central Connecticut State coach Pete Rossomando’s reported departure for a position at Rutgers would push the number of changes at FCS schools to 24 since the start of the 2018 season.

That is one fewer change than the seemingly untouchable 25 that spun on the coaching carousel between the 2017 and ’18 seasons.

Various reports since Monday say Rutgers will name Rossomando as its new offensive line coach. The 46-year-old, who’s never coached on the FBS level, has a 23-34 record, including 15-15 in the Northeast Conference, in five seasons at CCSU. He led the Blue Devils to a conference title and their first trip to the FCS playoffs in 2017.

Ironically, Rutgers’ offensive line coach, A.J. Blazek, did the reverse earlier this month in going from the FBS to the FCS to become national champion North Dakota State’s O-line coach.
