Astros trade Davis to Mets for prospects

HOUSTON (AP) The Houston Astros have traded infielder J.D. Davis and a prospect to the New York Mets for three minor leaguers.

The teams announced the trade Sunday. The 25-year-old Davis played 42 games for the Astros last season, when he hit .175 with a homer and five RBIs. In Triple-A Fresno, he hit .342 with 17 homers and 81 RBIs in 85 games.

The Astros received outfielder Ross Adolph, catcher Scott Manea and infielder Luis Santana in the deal that also sent infielder Cody Bohanek to New York. Adolph hit .276 with nine doubles, 12 triples, seven homers, 14 steals and 35 RBIs in 61 games with the Class A Brooklyn Cyclones.

Manea batted .261 with 12 homers and 53 RBIs in 100 games for Class A Columbia last season. The 19-year-old Santana led the rookie-level Kingsport Mets with a .348 average and hit 13 doubles, four homers and 35 RBIs in 53 games.

The 22-year-old Bohanek hit .214 in 120 games at three minor league levels last season.
