Indians anxiously await results on ace Kluber’s arm injuryBy TOM WITHERS

CLEVELAND (AP) The Cleveland Indians will soon find out how long they’ll be without ace Corey Kluber, whose broken right arm could alter their season.

The two-time Cy Young Award winner sustained a non-displaced fracture Wednesday night when he was struck by a line drive in a start against Miami. Kluber, who has struggled through the season’s first month, couldn’t avoid the 102 mph comebacker hit by Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson.

Kluber’s arm was placed in a cast before the team flew back to Cleveland from Florida. The 33-year-old is undergoing further imaging tests Thursday to determine the length of his absence.

The Indians are counting on their starting pitching to carry them again. But if Kluber is out for a significant period, the three-time defending AL Central champions are vulnerable. The Indians are already down one starter as Mike Clevinger is sidelined with a strained back muscle.
