Cup-seeking Wild unveil new GM Fenton: ‘No pressure, Paul’By DAVE CAMPBELL

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) After 20 years in NHL management, Paul Fenton has his first opportunity to run a team as the new general manager of the Minnesota Wild.

They’re counting on him to lead them to that elusive Stanley Cup.

Fenton was introduced on Tuesday at the Xcel Energy Center, where the Wild have produced six straight playoff teams to match the longest streak in the Western Conference. The problem is they’ve won only two series during that run, which is why owner Craig Leipold turned to Fenton for a fresh perspective after dismissing Chuck Fletcher after nine seasons.

Leipold said last month he doesn’t see the Wild in need of a significant roster rebuild. Fenton echoed that sentiment during his remarks.
