DENVER (AP) The Colorado Avalanche have brought back forward Gabriel Bourque on a one-year deal.
Bourque played in 58 games for the Avalanche in 2017-18 as he tallied five goals and six assists. He scored twice during Colorado’s first-round playoff loss to the Nashville Predators.
The 27-year-old Bourque was signed by Colorado as a free agent on Oct. 10, 2016. He was a fifth-round pick by the Predators in the 2009 draft and played in 242 games with Nashville.
Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic said that part of Bourque’s appeal is that he ”plays hard minutes, kills penalties and is reliable at both ends of the ice.”
Earlier this month, Colorado signed defensemen Mark Alt and Mark Barberio to two-year deals.
