Marchand out with upper-body injury against BlackhawksBy MATT CARLSON

CHICAGO (AP) Boston Bruins leading scorer Brad Marchand, who sat out Sunday’s 3-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks with an upper-body injury, is sidelined day to day.

Marchand, who has a team-high 29 goals and 69 points – five goals and six assists in his last five games – was hurt when he collided with Blackhawks forward Anthony Duclair in the first period of Saturday’s contest between the teams in Boston.

”It’s from the run-in with Duclair from last night,” coach Bruce Cassidy said. ”We didn’t know how serious it would be. Just found out before the game he wouldn’t be able to go. We’ll see how he is for Tuesday.”

Duclair had to be helped off the ice after the collision, favoring his right leg, and is expected to miss up to two weeks, according to coach Joel Quenneville.

Marchand continued in the game, playing just over 20 minutes and finishing with two assists in the Bruins’ 7-4 win.

The Bruins, whose six-game winning streak ended at Chicago on Sunday, continue a four-game trip at Carolina on Tuesday.
