SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – The Utah Jazz say guard Alec Burks will miss the rest of the season after surgery on his injured left shoulder.
Burks was averaging 13.9 points, a career-high 4.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season. He has missed the past two games because of the shoulder injury, which has bothered him at times this season.
Burks had previously missed two games after he hurt the shoulder against Denver on Dec. 1 and had been treating the injury with physical therapy.
The 6-foot-6 shooting guard, the 12th overall selection in the 2011 draft out of Colorado, will have surgery on Wednesday at the University of Utah.
