Colts CB Davis exits early with a knee injury

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis left Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee injury.

The injury happened in the first quarter when Davis, the Colts’ top cornerback, went in for a tackle on a running play. He was helped off the field where he was originally listed as probable to return. Then he went to questionable, before finally being ruled out the rest of the game in the second quarter.

Josh Gordy replaced Davis on the outside at cornerback because the Colts prefer to keep Darius Butler, the team’s third cornerback, on the inside on the slot receiver.
