GREEN BAY, Wis. — The bye week apparently did wonders for Aaron Rodgers’ hamstring injury because the Green Bay Packers quarterback was able to participate in Monday’s workout.
It was the first on-field activity since Rodgers pulled his left hamstring in the Packers’ 44-23 loss at the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 26.
“Aaron did everything today,” coach Mike McCarthy said Monday. “He looked good. He went through the workout today.”
The session wasn’t a full-fledged practice; McCarthy likened it to an offseason workout in which the team did individual drills plus strength and conditioning work.
Rodgers stayed in the game against the Saints even after his third-quarter injury, but his mobility was extremely limited. He finally came out of the game late in the fourth quarter, when it was out of hand.
Rodgers did not speak to reporters on Monday but after the Saints’ game he said he did not think it was severe.
McCarthy said right guard T.J. Lang, who sprained his left ankle against the Saints, spent Monday rehabilitating the injury. However, the three defensive starters — cornerback Sam Shields (knee), safety Morgan Burnett (calf) and defensive end Datone Jones (ankle) — who missed the Saints’ game all went through Monday’s team workout.
