2 Indiana basketball players cited for alcohol possession

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) Two Indiana basketball players have been cited for underage alcohol possession.

Team spokesman J.D. Campbell said Monday that sophomore forward Emmitt Holt and freshman center Thomas Bryant were stopped Friday night. Campbell said in the statement that the matter was being taken ”very seriously.”

It is the second time in 10 months that the 19-year-old Holt has been involved in an underage drinking incident.

Police determined that Holt had been consuming alcohol when he hit teammate Devin Davis with his car on Halloween night. Holt was not cited in the accident, which left Davis with a serious brain injury.

Davis was kicked off the team in May after being cited for marijuana possession. Hanner Mosquera-Perea, who was with Davis in May but was not cited, also was dismissed.
