BALTIMORE (AP) Dimitrije Spasojevic had 16 points off the bench to carry Maryland-Baltimore County to an 89-57 win over Penn State York on Monday.
UMBC outscored the Nittany Lions 44-16 in the paint and 29-8 in bench points. UMBC shot 64% from the floor, including 70% in the first half, and held Penn State York to 38% overall.
L.J. Owens had 15 points for Maryland-Baltimore County (7-8). Daniel Akin added 13 points, and Brandon Horvath had 12 points. Spasojevic made 8 of 10 shots.
Johnathon Gillespie had 18 points for the Nittany Lions. Richard Grant added 14 points and Michael Coleman had 10 points. The game did not count against Penn State York’s record.
