UPLAND, Ind. (AP) Matt Shiltz passed for 293 yards with two touchdowns and ran for two more as Butler rallied to defeat NAIA Taylor 41-10 Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (2-1) trailed Taylor (1-2) 10-7 after a quarter, but reeled off 34 unanswered points – dominating with 190 yards rushing and 298 passing to 79 and 167 for Taylor.
Schiltz scored the last two touchdowns with runs of 3 and 77 yards. On the latter, he faked an end around and reversed field to score.
Early in the second quarter he put Butler ahead, 14-10, with a 67-yard pass to Danny Cotter. Cotter caught five passes for 110 yards.
Everett Pollard completed 15 of 41 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown for Taylor, but threw four interceptions.
The Trojans picked off Shiltz early, with Pollard finding Justin Keys from 17 yards out and a 7-0 lead.
