FCS teams in mix for fall nonconference games

(Stats Perform) – A small number of FCS schools are scheduled to play nonconference games this fall, including against FBS opponents, after all 13 conferences postponed their league competition due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most of the 127 FCS programs hope to play the majority of their schedule during the spring semester, but through Friday, 13 programs – just over 10 percent – had nonconference games scheduled in the fall semester, while Chattanooga and Lamar were still exploring the possibility of games. Austin Peay and Central Arkansas are scheduled to meet in college football’s first game, the FCS Kickoff on Aug. 29 in Montgomery, Alabama.

While the fall nonconference schedule is evolving, here is what’s been put in place:
