(STATS) – Jacksonville State and host Kennesaw State will meet on Nov. 17, 2018 in the first college football game to be played at SunTrust Park in Atlanta.
The two FCS schools announced their first-ever matchup during a joint news conference Friday at the new 41,000-seat home of the Atlanta Braves.
The field will run from home plate to left field.
“We are excited to provide our student-athletes, coaches, fans, and alumni the opportunity to see our football team play in such an incredible and unique venue,” Kennesaw State athletic director Vaughn Williams said. “I know this will be a great event for Cobb County and the Northwest Georgia region.”
Kennesaw State, a Big South Conference member, has gone a combined 14-8 in its first two seasons as a startup program under coach Brian Bohannon. Jacksonville State has won three straight Ohio Valley Conference titles under coach John Grass and was the FCS runner-up in 2015.
Kennesaw State has agreed to play a return game at Jacksonville State at a date which has not been set.
