(STATS) – Hampton will face Delaware State in the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic at Washington’s RFK Stadium as part of an 11-game schedule this year.
The matchup will be played Friday night, Sept. 8.
Hampton, which will celebrate its 150th anniversary as a university, will host five opponents – Livingstone (Sept. 16) and Monmouth (Sept. 23) in non-conference matchups, and Florida A&M (Oct. 21, Homecoming), 2016 MEAC champ North Carolina Central (Nov. 4) and rival Howard (Nov. 18) in conference matchups.
The Pirates’ road schedule includes a season-opening trip to Ohio University on Sept. 2.
Last year, the Pirates went 5-6 overall, including 5-3 in the MEAC, in coach Connell Maynor’s third season. They will return six starters on each side of the ball this season.
