BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) LSU has signed one of the highest rated wide receivers in the nation on the final day of the NCAA new early signing period for football.
Terrace Marshall, who committed to LSU on Friday afternoon, chose to remain in his native state after reportedly showing considerable interest in Texas A&M and Texas.
The 6-foot-2, 192-pound Marshall is from Bossier City, Louisiana. His senior season at Parkway High School was cut short by lower leg injury, but remains the top rated receiver in the nation by several recruiting services.
Marshall’s arrival comes as the Tigers lose two of their leading receivers – D.J. Chark and Russell Gage – to graduation.
During his 2015 and 2016 seasons combined, Marshall had 2,593 yards receiving and 30 touchdowns.
LSU has signed 20 players during the early signing period, including six defensive linemen, four offensive linemen, three receivers and a place kicker.
