CONWAY, S.C. (AP) Coastal Carolina coach Joe Moglia is back as the Chanticleers’ football coach.
Moglia said Friday that doctors have found the proper course of action to combat the allergic reaction in his lungs that caused him to take a medical leave of absence last July. Moglia says he’ll meet with his staff and team this week as Coastal Carolina prepares for its second season in the Football Bowl Subdivision’s Sun Belt Conference.
Moglia stepped away last summer with offensive coordinator Jamey Chadwell leading the Chants to a 3-9 mark, 2-6 in league play.
Moglia, 68, said he’s in excellent health and expects to coach several more years. Moglia and the school signed a contract extension through June 2021.
Moglia has a 51-15 record in five seasons as Coastal’s coach.
