(STATS) – Northern Arizona quarterback Case Cookus is expected to be a game-time decision for Saturday’s game at Missouri State after he suffered an upper body injury last weekend.
Cookus’ injury remains under evaluation by team personnel. The redshirt junior was injured on a hard hit near the end of the first quarter of a 31-26 loss to Eastern Washington last Saturday.
Cookus, the 2015 STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award winner as the national freshman of the year, has thrown for 7,962 yards and 74 touchdowns in 29 career games.
Redshirt sophomore Daniel Bridge-Gadd threw for three touchdowns off the bench against Eastern Washington and will start if Cookus can’t against Missouri State. NAU (1-1) is ranked 20th in the STATS FCS Top 25.
