(STATS) – Defending Northeast Conference co-champion Sacred Heart will kick off the 2019 season with a trip to Maine and play five times at home as part of a 12-game schedule.
The Aug. 30 opener at Maine is a first-time meeting between the two programs. The Black Bears won the CAA Football title and reached the FCS semifinals last season.
Sacred Heart’s home games at Campus Field will be against Bucknell (Sept. 7) and Lehigh (Nov. 16) from the Patriot League as well as Central Connecticut State (Oct. 5), fellow NEC co-champ Duquesne (Oct. 19) and Wagner (Nov. 9) within the conference.
The Pioneers finished 7-4 last season and with a share of the NEC title for the third time under coach Mark Nofri in the last six years.
