(STATS) – A strong contingent of 14 former FCS players are participating at this week’s 69th Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
A week’s worth of practices and player interviews lead up to the premier college football all-star game Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
FCS players originally assigned to the North squad were North Dakota State inside linebacker Nick DeLuca, Brown defensive end Richard “Dewey” Jarvis, Weber State cornerback Taron Johnson and The Citadel inside linebacker Myles Pierce. Maine offensive tackle Jamil Demby and Penn wide receiver Justin Watson were added over the weekend.
The South squad includes South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert, who’s generally projected to become the first FCS player taken in the NFL draft. There’s also Southern cornerback Danny Johnson, Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta, South Carolina State outside linebacker Darius Leonard, Jacksonville State cornerback Siran Neal, North Carolina A&T offensive tackle Brandon Parker, Idaho State offensive guard Skyler Phillips and Murray State cornerback D’Montre Wade.
Stony Brook offensive tackle Timon Parris, who is recovering from a fractured fibula, was named to the Senior Bowl, but not assigned to a roster.
Vance Joseph and the Denver Broncos staff will coach the North, while Bill O’Brien and the Houston Texans staff will coach the South.
