Samardzija hasn’t pitched more than five innings in any of his last three starts after allowing three runs, five hits and three walks with five strikeouts in four frames of San Francisco’s 5-4 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday. Peralta is 1-for-15 with a solo home run and five strikeouts against Samardzija, who is 3-4 with a 4.12 ERA in 17 games (12 starts) versus the Diamondbacks.
Kelly suffered his second straight loss after yielding three runs and eight hits while striking out five over seven innings of a 6-4 loss to Atlanta on Friday. Kelly is 1-2 with a 3.20 ERA in four home starts compared to 2-2 and 6.53 on the road.
