PREDICTION: BOSTON , TORONTO

Oddsmakers currently have the TORONTO listed as 135-moneyline favorites versus the BOSTON, while the game’s total is sitting at 6.

The Boston Bruins hope to cool down the red-hot Toronto Maple Leafs when they continue a four-game homestand on Saturday, but they’ll have to do it without their top goaltender. Tuukka Rask was granted a leave of absence on Friday to tend to a personal matter and will be away from the team indefinitely.

The 31-year-old Rask, who helped guide the Bruins to the Stanley Cup championship in 2011 and captured the Vezina Trophy in 2014, has posted a 4-4-0 record and 3.05 goals-against average this season as he has shared the crease with newcomer Jaroslav Halak, who signed a two-year contract in July. Rask relieved Halak in Thursday’s 8-5 loss to Vancouver and was saddled with the loss after allowing three goals on 14 shots. Toronto is coming off a 6-1 home trouncing of New Jersey on Friday and has outscored its opponents 14-2 during its three-game winning streak. Nazem Kadri and defenseman Morgan Rielly each recorded a goal and an assist in the win for the Maple Leafs, who are kicking off a four-game road trip that features three contests in California next week.

ABOUT THE MAPLE LEAFS (11-5-0): John Tavares has collected two goals and three assists during his four-game point streak after tallying in the victory over the Devils. Patrick Marleau reached a milestone on Friday, as he set up Kadri’s goal for his 600th career assist. The 39-year-old forward, who was drafted second overall by San Jose in 1997, is nine games away from 1,600 in the NHL.

ABOUT THE BRUINS (8-5-2): Boston will be recalling a goaltender from Providence of the American Hockey League to serve as the backup to Halak, who is 4-1-2 with two shutouts, a 1.96 GAA and a .936 save percentage despite surrendering five goals on 19 shots versus the Canucks. The 33-year-old Slovakian will be in net against the Maple Leafs and also may start when the Bruins host Vegas on Sunday. Patrice Bergeron scored a goal on Thursday, giving him a team-high 21 points on the season and five over his last four games.
