Cubs’ Fowler leaves game because of discomfort in hamstring

CHICAGO (AP) Dexter Fowler has left the Chicago Cubs’ game against the Pittsburgh Pirates because of discomfort in his right hamstring.

He came up hobbling after running out a grounder to third leading off the bottom of the first inning on Saturday. Albert Almora Jr. replaced him in center field in the second.

Fowler, who re-signed with Chicago in late February, came into the game batting .291 with seven home runs. The Cubs were a major league-leading 45-20.
