NEW YORK (AP) The New York Mets have placed right-hander Noah Syndergaard on the 10-day disabled list with a sore right index finger.
The move Tuesday is retroactive to May 26, and he likely will miss one start because of the strained ligament.
Syndergaard is 4-1 with a 3.06 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 64 2/3 innings as one of the Mets’ aces, along with Jacob deGrom. Syndergaard last pitched Friday night in a loss at Atlanta.
The Mets now have 11 players on the DL, including such regulars as outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, third baseman Todd Frazier, and catcher Travis d’Arnaud.
