LOS ANGELES (AP) Los Angeles’ Rob Segedin set a Dodgers record by driving in four runs on his major league debut while Adrian Gonzalez hit his 300th career home run in an 8-5 win against Boston on Sunday that moved the Dodgers within one game of the lead in the National League West.
The Dodgers closed in on San Francisco, which was shut out in a loss at Washington.
Texas boosted its lead in the American League West with an 11-inning win against Houston, while the New York Yankees beat Cleveland in a game played hours after Alex Rodriguez announced his imminent departure from the Yankees.

Roark pitched seven scoreless innings. His last pitch came with runners on second and third, and center fielder Ben Revere made a spectacular, over-the-shoulder catch to rob Brandon Belt of a hit that would have put the Giants ahead.
Bumgarner was an unlucky loser, giving up just two hits, including a homer by Wilson Ramos in the seventh which was the only score of the game.
Texas’ Ian Desmond hit a tiebreaking single in the 11th inning to give the Rangers a 5-3 victory against Houston; their 11th win in 13 games against their state and division rival this season.
After Shin-Soo Choo led off the 11th with a double, Desmond followed with a single to put Texas ahead and Rougned Odor later drove in another run. Matt Bush struck out George Springer with runners at first and third to end it.
