INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) – Cavaliers starting forward Kevin Love will return to the floor after missing two straight games to rest his body.
Love sat out games in Orlando and Miami. He maintains the time off had nothing to do with a back injury.
Love took part in the team’s morning shootaround and said afterward that he will play in Wednesday night’s game against Brooklyn as the Cavs try to win their 14th straight at home.
Love said coach David Blatt approached him about resting, and the 6-foot-10 big man took advantage of the chance.
In his first season with Cleveland, Love is averaging 16.8 points and 10.1 rebounds in 34.4 minutes. He has never played in the postseason, spending his first six years with Minnesota.
The Cavaliers have 13 regular-season games left. They currently have the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
