LOS ANGELES (AP) The Los Angeles Clippers have unveiled the first visual renderings of the arena complex they’re hoping to build in Inglewood.
The Clippers took the next step Thursday in their plans for an 18,500-seat arena and a billion-dollar development project they’re hoping to occupy in 2024.
The team says the complex will be funded entirely by owner Steve Ballmer. The Microsoft billionaire is the wealthiest owner in U.S. team sports, and he says he wants ”the Clippers to have the best home in all of sports.”
The Clippers hope to build their arena just south of the lavish new football stadium nearing completion in Inglewood. Billionaire Stan Kroenke is building that project, which will house his Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.
