Davis to return as Pelicans host streaking Hawks

NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Pelicans All-Star power forward Anthony Davis says he’ll return to the lineup Monday night when New Orleans tries to end Atlanta’s 19-game winning streak.

Davis, who missed one game and has had four days of rehabilitation since straining his left groin against Denver last Wednesday night, says he believes he is ”ready to go out there, and so do the trainers and doctors.”

The 6-foot-10 Davis leads the Pelicans with averages of 24.5 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks.

Davis returned to practice Sunday and says he’s determined to do what it takes to win and won’t play as if scared of re-injuring himself.
