LOS ANGELES (AP) – The wife of former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling is going to court to seek $2.5 million in real estate and cars he gave a girlfriend.
Shelly Sterling’s case against V. Stiviano is scheduled for trial Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The case comes nearly a year after Stiviano’s recording of Donald Sterling making racially insensitive remarks led the NBA to ban him for life.
Shelly Sterling removed her husband from the trust that owned the team because of questions about his competence, and she sold the team for $2 billion.
She sued Stiviano to reclaim what she said was community property given to the woman by her husband.
Donald Sterling gave Stiviano a $1.8 million home and fancy cars that included a Ferrari and two Bentleys.
