ATLANTA (AP) – All-Star forward Paul Millsap of the Atlanta Hawks will miss at least the next two games with a right shoulder injury.
The Hawks announced Monday that X-rays were negative, but an MRI showed that Millsap sprained and bruised his shoulder against Brooklyn this past weekend.
He will definitely miss Tuesday’s home game against Phoenix and Wednesday’s game at Brooklyn. The team says his status will be updated when appropriate, but the main focus will be on making sure he’s healthy for the playoffs, which begin in less than two weeks.
The Hawks (57-19) has already clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference and tied a franchise record for victories.
Millsap was injured in the first half of a 131-99 victory over the Nets when he collided with Earl Clark.
