PREDICTION: MEMPHIS , PHOENIX

Oddsmakers currently have the MEMPHIS listed as 11 point favorites versus the PHOENIX, while the game’s total is sitting at 217.

A 131-point outburst in a home win over the Atlanta Hawks last week is looking like the outlier for the Memphis Grizzlies, who are last in the NBA in scoring average (99.5) despite that triumph. The Grizzlies will try to put some points on the board when they return from a two-game trip and host the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

Memphis is averaging 89 points in the three games other than the 131-117 win over Atlanta and shot 38.3 percent in a 97-92 loss at the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday. “I think we had some opportunities at the rim, and the 3s that we took for the most part I liked them,” Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff told reporters. “…Our offense is going to be based on trying to get to the basket, then those kick-outs from there can get us some 3-point shots.” The Suns lost their last three games by an average of 22 points and were crushed 131-113 by the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. “We came out, we had a game plan and we didn’t follow it completely and that’s what ya’ll saw out there,” small forward Josh Jackson told reporters. “We kind of got off to a slow start. We realized that and started to pick it up a little bit, but by then, guys were hot and hitting shots already.”

ABOUT THE SUNS (1-3): Making matters worse for Phoenix was the sight of star shooting guard Devin Booker limping off the court with a left hamstring injury during Wednesday’s setback. Booker, who leads the team in scoring (27.8 points) and assists (6.8), sat out the fourth quarter against the Lakers and is day-to-day. “I’m very concerned,” rookie center Deandre Ayton told reporters. “I didn’t really see him (when he got injured). I just saw the whole arena got quiet, and I see him walking off the court. I just got a little worried. Hope it’s not too serious.”

ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (2-2): One positive for Memphis is the play of point guard Mike Conley, who is averaging 19.3 points and 5.8 assists after scoring a season-high 27 on Wednesday. Conley played just 12 games last season while dealing with a heel injury injury but is averaging 31.3 minutes in 2018-19 and playing without restriction. Not quite all the way back is small forward Chandler Parsons, whose knee issues forced him out of Wednesday’s game and leave him day-to-day.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Grizzlies C Marc Gasol (neck) left Wednesday’s game and is questionable for Saturday.

2. Ayton is up to three double-doubles in four games and scored a season-high 22 points on 11-of-14 shooting in Wednesday’s setback.

3. Phoenix took three of the four meetings last season, including a 110-102 win at Memphis on Feb. 28.

PREDICTION: Grizzlies 101, Suns 95
