NBA pipeline from Europe getting bigger, deeper and stronger

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The pipeline of players from Europe to the NBA isn’t slowing down.

Some current players who attended a recent Basketball Without Borders camp in Croatia believe it’s growing.

Pacers forward Damjan Rudez attended the same camp more than a decade ago and when he returned to his home country last week was amazed by the changes. He says this year’s campers were bigger and stronger than those he played with.

Maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise.

A record 101 foreign-born players began this NBA season on rosters. Three more overseas players are expected to be selected in the top 10 of this year’s draft and more apparently are on the way.
