Nets' Hollis-Jefferson expected to miss 8-10 weeks

NEW YORK (AP) Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is expected to miss at least two months after surgery to repair a fractured right ankle.

The Nets said the procedure Wednesday in New York was performed by team physician Dr. Martin O’Malley, their foot and ankle specialist. O’Malley says two screws were inserted into the ankle to repair a fracture of the posterior talus and that no other damage was found.

O’Malley says in a statement he expects a complete recovery and estimates Hollis-Jefferson’s return to the court in eight to 10 weeks.

Hollis-Jefferson is averaging 5.2 points and 6.1 rebounds in 19 games, including 14 starts.
