The Vegas Golden Knights attempt to bounce back from the first loss in franchise history when they continue their seven-game homestand Sunday against the Boston Bruins. Vegas won the first three games of its inaugural season and was one period away from a fourth straight victory before imploding in the third period on Friday and dropping a 6-3 decision to Detroit.

James Neal scored his sixth goal in four contests to help give the Golden Knights a 3-2 lead after two periods, but the team surrendered four tallies over the final 20 minutes to fall to 1-1-0 on its homestand. Boston has split the first two contests of its three-game road trip, falling to Colorado 6-3 on Wednesday before rolling past Arizona 6-2 three nights later. Captain Zdeno Chara recorded a goal and two assists while Brad Marchand, Jake DeBrusk and David Pastrnak all added one of each as the Bruins extended their winning streak against the Coyotes to 11 games. Marchand leads the team with five points after netting a tally and setting up another in each of the first two contests of Boston’s trek.

ABOUT THE BRUINS (2-2-0): Anders Bjork also scored in Saturday’s victory, converting a power-play opportunity late in the third period for his first career goal. The 21-year-old left wing, who was a fifth-round pick in the 2014 draft, made his NHL debut in the season opener and notched an assist. Tim Schaller has tallied in back-to-back contests after being kept off the scoresheet in each of the first two games of the season.

OVERTIME

1. The Golden Knights are just 1-for-17 on the power play, with Neal scoring the goal.

2. Boston C Danton Heinen registered two assists on Saturday after notching one in his season debut three days earlier.

3. Neal is the first player in the expansion era to record a goal in each of a team’s first four games.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS (3-1-0): Less than 24 hours after scoring his first goal of the season, Erik Haula was placed on injured reserve Saturday with a lower-body injury. The 26-year-old Finnish left wing, who was selected from Minnesota’s roster in the expansion draft, is one of only two Golden Knights (defenseman Nate Schmidt) with at least one goal and one assist thus far this season. To replace Haula on the roster, Vegas recalled 30-year-old Russian center Vadim Shipachyov – who signed with the team after recording 422 points in 416 games in the Kontinental Hockey League – from Chicago of the American Hockey League.
