Dodgers acquire minor league Ruggiano from Seattle

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Dodgers acquired minor league outfielder Justin Ruggiano and cash considerations from Seattle on Monday night for a player to be named later.

Ruggiano batted .296 with 10 home runs and 29 RBIs in 49 games with the Mariners’ Triple-A Tacoma affiliate this season. Ruggiano appeared in 36 games with Seattle, hitting .214 with two homers and three RBIs.

The 33-year-old outfielder has played parts of seven seasons in the big leagues with Tampa Bay, Miami, the Cubs and Mariners, playing all three outfield positions.
