PREDICTION: CHICAGO , CLEVELAND

Oddsmakers currently have the CHICAGO listed as -5 point favorites versus the CLEVELAND, while the game’s total is sitting at 211.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are having some trouble joining the NBA’s scoring surge, and injuries are a big part of the problem. The Cavaliers will expand their rotation due to injury once again when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Cleveland is averaging 92.3 points during a four-game slide and suffered a 95-86 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday that was most notable for starting small forward Cedi Osman (back) joining a growing injury list. The Cavaliers are without star forward Kevin Love until late December due to a foot injury and watched forward Sam Dekker (ankle), point guard George Hill (shoulder) and Osman join him this week. The Bulls, who are without forwards Lauri Markkanen (elbow) and Bobby Portis (knee) and guards Denzel Valentine (ankle) and Kris Dunn (knee) won’t have much sympathy for Cleveland as they try to find complimentary scoring for guard Zach LaVine. The Bulls placed five scorers in double figures on Thursday at New Orleans but shot 39.6 percent from the floor in a 107-98 loss.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (1-11): The injuries are giving younger players a chance to shine, and rookie guard Collin Sexton made his first start in place of Hill on Wednesday. Sexton logged 42 minutes and finished with 15 points on 7-of-14 shooting. “I thought he did a really good job,” Cavaliers coach Larry Drew told reporters of Sexton. “That was, to me that was just a big test for him against a really good point guard (Oklahoma City’s Dennis Schroder). I really thought when I heard George wasn’t going to play and that Collin would be starting, I told my coaches this is going to be a really good test for him. And I think he passed the test.”

ABOUT THE BULLS (3-9): LaVine is averaging 27.4 points and got some extra help on the wing Wednesday from swingman Justin Holiday, who scored 17 points while going up against his brother, Jrue Holiday, on the Pelicans. Chicago also got a solid game from the frontcourt tandem of Jabari Parker and Wendell Carter Jr. Parker collected 20 points and 13 rebounds in the loss while Carter went 7-of-11 from the floor and finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds in his third consecutive double-double.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Bulls SG Antonio Blakeney is 1-of-10 from 3-point range over the last three games.

2. Cavaliers C Tristan Thompson averaged 15.5 rebounds in the last two games.

PREDICTION: Bulls 109, Cavaliers 101
