BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Bills have promoted tight end Gerald Christian from the practice squad. According to the team’s website, Buffalo’s starting tight end, Charles Clay, did not travel with the team to Oakland on Saturday because of the expected birth of his child.
Clay did not practice this week because of a knee injury and was listed as questionable to play Sunday against the Raiders.
If Clay does not play, Nick O’Leary will start at tight end for the Bills and Christian will be his backup.
Christian has played in two games for Buffalo this season and has been inactive for three games. He has not caught a pass.
To make room for Christian, the Bills released kickoff specialist Jordan Gay.
