ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Buffalo Bills starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor says he doesn’t need his detractors to realize his share of shortcomings this season.
Taylor refers to the team’s 3-2 record to acknowledge it’s time for the Bills and himself to begin ”separating from the pack.” That process starts on Sunday, when Buffalo returns from its bye week to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3).
Questions regarding Taylor are being raised at a time he is overseeing an offense that hasn’t produced 300 yards since gaining 408 in a season-opening 21-12 win over the New York Jets.
Injuries have been an issue with Buffalo losing its two top receiving threats over the past three weeks.
Tight end Charles Clay is out indefinitely with a left knee injury. Receiver Jordan Matthews was cleared to return to practice Wednesday after missing one game with a broken right thumb.
