BEREA, Ohio (AP) Bow wow! Rapper Snoop Dogg showed up at Browns practice on Wednesday.
The bandwagon is growing in Cleveland, where the NFL’s worst team a year ago has suddenly become fashionable – and just maybe a playoff contender.
By beating Baltimore in overtime on Sunday, the Browns (2-2-1) doubled their win total over the past two seasons, and if not for a couple of bad bounces and breaks, they could be unbeaten.
Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield has infused life into the franchise and belief into his teammates as they get ready to host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Mayfield, who oozes confidence, said he knew the Browns were no longer a bad team ”the second I stepped foot into this franchise. We had a special team from the get-go. Whoever we are playing has nothing to do with this team. We believe in this team that we have.”
Safety Damarious Randall said the Browns ”feel like we’re a contender.”
