ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) The Buffalo Bills have placed safety James Ihedigbo on season-ending injured reserve, and replaced him by promoting Shamiel Gary off their practice squad.
Without revealing the severity of the injury, coach Rex Ryan said Ihedigbo hurt an ankle in a 27-20 loss to Pittsburgh on Sunday. It was his fourth start after being signed by Buffalo last month.
The Bills also promoted offensive tackle Michael Ola from their practice squad and released linebacker Bryson Albright. Ola appeared in three games with Buffalo earlier this season. He fills a potential need with starting left tackle Cordy Glenn, who is nursing a back injury.
Buffalo (6-7) hosts Cleveland (0-13) on Sunday.
