IRVING, Texas (AP) – Dallas tight end Jason Witten is going to his 10th Pro Bowl, as an injury replacement for Denver’s Julius Thomas.
Witten’s addition Monday night sends him to his third straight Pro Bowl after a seven-year streak ended in 2011. The game is Sunday in Arizona.
The 32-year-old Witten had 64 catches for 703 yards and five touchdowns in his 12th season. He and Tony Gonzalez are the only tight ends with 11 straight 700-yard seasons.
Witten is the fourth player with at least 10 Pro Bowls for the Cowboys. Defensive lineman Bob Lilly made 11 appearances, while defensive back Mel Renfro and offensive lineman Larry Allen had 10 apiece.
Witten has a franchise-record 943 catches, with 10,502 yards receiving and 57 touchdowns.
