BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) ESPN’s broadcast crew for the season-opening ”Monday Night Football” doubleheader between Denver and Oakland will feature analysts who played for the Broncos and Raiders.
The network announced Wednesday that former Denver quarterback Brian Griese and former Raiders safety Louis Riddick will serve as the analysts alongside Steve Levy for the late game on Sept. 9. Laura Rutledge will be the sideline reporter.
This is Griese’s second time in the booth for a Monday night opener after having worked last year’s early game between Detroit and the Jets with play-by-play announcer Beth Mowins and Rutledge.
Griese and Levy work college football games together for ESPN and have called preseason games locally for the Broncos in Denver.
The early game between Houston and New Orleans will feature the main booth of Joe Tessitore, Booger McFarland and sideline reporter Lisa Salters.
